The Carbonana Gardens

The Gubbio sculptor, Francesco Scalici, has reproduced his original bronze statue of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Wolf of Gubbio for Carbonana Castle and it now serenely occupies a discreet yet spectacular place in the east gardens. The bronze statue was installed last December. It was cast at the Fonderia Artistica Paoletti of Ancona. With the passing of time the present colour will be weathered and have a more pleasant verdigris finish.

Scalici is now working on a second sculpture which will adorn the landscape at Carbonana, this one, an original and larger bronze statue.
