Gennaro and Patrizia Ricciardelli, custodians of the Castle of Carbonana

Gennaro and Patrizia Ricciardelli, custodians of the Carbonana Castle

Gennaro and Patrizia Ricciardelli, in a spirit of service and hospitality, qualities which so well define them, took on the mission of being the custodians of Carbonana Castle in 2014 and have since, along with their grown-up children, Sara and Davide, become the heart and soul of this national monument.

The Ricciardelli family are proud natives of Naples who moved to Gubbio in 2003 firstly to shepherd a small local Christian community.

Dwelling in the completely restored old farm house on the castle grounds, a farm house which once doubled as a hunting lodge, Gennaro and Patrizia oversee the care and maintenance of the castle and its gardens, represent the owners in dealing with suppliers and trades and are a constant and reliable presence, who, with the indispensable help of the castle mascots, Nerone (the dog) and Barbarossa (the cat), keep an ever watchful and loving eye on Carbonana.
